Rust
Rust is the enemy of your car, and all metal for that matter. In the winter, more salt is about. The roads are gritted with a mixture of salt and other components at this time of year. Why add salt? Chips

Make sure you have this in your engine water, to keep it from freezing. We actually put antifreeze into our windscreen washers, it has never harmed our paint. If they are set properly it won’t go onto your roof.

Tyres
Most people don’t think to check at this time but again, these little things can save you a lot of hassle later. Check your tyre pressure is correct and especially your tread. Reduced tread = reduced grip, and you can use all the grip you can get in this weather.

Supplies
Make sure, if you are going anywhere in bad weather, that you have supplies such as a shovel, blanket, liquid, food, salt etc in the event you get stuck.
